Sophie Penny

Sophie joined TKO in 2012, originally starting because her parents wanted her to gain confidence, learn self-defence and keep fit. She began in the Cadets class and worked her way up, to her blue belt. After taking a 3 year break due to work commitments, she came back more determined than ever- to train harder, lose weight, start fighting again and teach others.

With the help and support of TKO, she lost nearly 4 stone and continues to push through, always striving to improve. Sophie currently teaches our ladies only class, with experience of also coaching the Little Kickers. Sophie has also stepped into the ring for several boxing and kickboxing fights, including a UWCB charity fight for Cancer Research.

Her ladies class is all about having fun, building confidence and improving fitness- no pressure, just a fully adaptable approach that suits every skill level. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, you'll always feel supported and challenged at your own pace.

Outside of kickboxing, Sophie has found a new love for running and taking her dogs out on long walks. Staying active is a huge part of her life, and she loves helping others find the same enjoyment in movement.

In the future, her goal is to bring kickboxing to people with mental health challenges and different disabilities of all ages, making fitness accessible and empowering for everyone.
